QUESTION:

I have a clicking external Seagate Goflex hard drive. I'd prefer to interface it as an inside sata to check whether I can recuperate a portion of the information. I as of now have two pata interior hard drives on my PC. Would i be able to attach a third drive? Provided that this is true what do I do after I associate the drive, have never utilized a sata in this PC? Much obliged.

BEST ANSWER:

The number of drives is determined by the number of SATA/PATA ports on your motherboard. For PATA, it's usually two IDE channels with two devices per channel, thus four PATA devices. SATA ports are 1:1, so one port per drive.

If your motherboard only has PATA connectors, you will need a SATA/PATA converter to hook up that external drive internally.
