QUESTION:

Since RAM is at an unsurpassed low, I needed to get another 8GB to add to my present 8GB (single channel) stick. Anyway there were no 1866MHz sticks of the brand I as of now have for under $70, and getting 2 sticks was $100 so it was an easy decision. In any case, I don't actually require 24 GB at the present time.

Indeed, I know there is a publicity about the upsides of Dual Channel. So Should I stay with 16GB RAM, or have 24 GB with one of the sticks in single channel?

The principle hindering component to me would be if my framework is SLOWED down from its present exhibition with this additional stick in there. I'm as of now in single channel, so would the entirety of this basically further develop execution? Or then again does the third have to go?

There's an average of ~10% increase in performance with dual channel over single channel. If you need the performance more than the volume, stay with a single matched pair. Some boards (most?) will default to single channel if it sees an odd number of sticks.
