If you want people to find you via Google searches, search engine optimization (SEO) should be at the top of your priority list.
You will not be able to generate leads for your company if no one can find you.
Did you know that 93 percent of Internet experiences begin with a search engine? What happens after someone searches?
The top Google result has a 33% chance of being clicked.
That means that if you're not number one on the page, you've just lost a third of your potential traffic.
What's more surprising is that 75% of people will not even click on the second page of search results.
Other websites are ranking higher than you on Google because they are making a concerted effort to improve their SEO.
Fortunately, it is not too late for you to begin.
There are some things you can do to improve your chances of ranking higher in Google searches.

I've compiled a list of the top 10 ways to boost your SEO ranking. They're right here.
1. Increase the speed with which your pages load.
There are several reasons why your page loading time is important.
To begin with, if your load speed is too slow, Google will notice and penalize your ranking.
However, a slow website will have an impact on how your website visitors interact with your pages.
As a result, your ranking will suffer as a result of those negative interactions.
Consider how abandonment rates rise for websites with slow page load times:
What is the limit of too slow?
According to research, 40% of website visitors will leave if the page takes more than 3 seconds to load.
What's more shocking is that 80% of those visitors will never return to that website.
This is bad for your SEO ranking because it reduces traffic to your site.
On the other hand, if your page loads quickly, visitors will return.
Google's algorithm will recognize the popularity of your website and adjust your search ranking accordingly.
As a result, it is critical to optimize both your page speed and server response time.
There are free online services available to test the speed of your website, such as Pingdom.
This will enable you to test your website from various locations around the world.
If your site is running slowly, you should look into your website theme and plugins.
If your slow server is to blame, take a look at my list of the best web hosting providers and switch to a new host!
2. Create high-quality content.
How frequently do you make changes to your website?
You probably don't have a great SEO ranking right now if you haven't touched it since the day you built it.
To increase traffic to your website and its popularity, you must give visitors a reason to return.
Your content must be of high quality, current, and relevant.
The so-called dwell time is another factor that influences your SEO ranking.
This is the amount of time people spend on your website per visit.
If your site contains new, exciting, or newsworthy content, visitors will stay on your page longer, increasing your dwell time.
Websites with a lot of information usually have a lot of visitors who stay for a long time.
Save all of your content ideas in one place across all of your document apps.
Here's another thing to think about.
Google Chrome has nearly 45 percent of the Internet browser market share, making it the world's most popular browser.
This figure is expected to rise further, as Chrome was also the most downloaded browser in 2017:
Users who bookmark your website using the Google Chrome browser can help your SEO ranking.
Visitors are more likely to bookmark your website if it contains high-quality and relevant content.
3. Make your images more appealing.
Pictures and other images are excellent additions to your website.
However, if you want these images to improve your SEO ranking, you must ensure that they are properly optimized.
I'm referring to things like file format and size.
Large images can slow down your page loading time, which, as previously stated, hurts your ranking.
Optimize your images by resizing or compressing them.
By naming your images appropriately, you can also use them to sneak in keywords.
Assume you have a website that sells toiletries or other bath products.
Instead of naming an image "shampoo1," you could call it "best shampoo for long hair."
You can also strategically use keywords in your image's title, caption, or description.
4. Use header tags to break up your content.
Another way to improve the user experience on your website is to use headings.
They divide the text and make it easier to read or skim.
In addition, headers make everything look more appealing, which is always a plus.
If your website is just a wall of text, people will be discouraged from spending much time on it.
As a result, your SEO ranking will suffer.
If you're using WordPress, you can easily change the header tags.
For all of my websites and blog posts, I use header tags.
If you aren't already using this tool, I strongly advise you to do so as soon as possible.
5. Intensify blogging.
Blogging is beneficial to your business.
It's an excellent lead generation tool that allows you to interact with visitors to your website.
What most people don't realize is that blogging improves SEO rankings.
This is why.
As previously stated, creating fresh, updated, and relevant content can drive people to your website and give them a reason to stay on your pages for an extended period.
Blogs are the ideal medium for you to accomplish this.
You can get a lot of traffic to your site every day if you can build a large group of loyal readers.
You can also incorporate other things I've mentioned so far, such as images and header tags, into your posts.
Other elements, such as links, improved readability, and keywords, can be included in these posts. I'll get to them shortly.
All of this has a positive effect on your search engine ranking.
6. Utilize outbound links.
Certain actions can be taken to boost the credibility of your website.
You can make claims, but it looks much better if you back them up with evidence.
All of your data claims should be supported by credible and authoritative sources.
I do this myself, as you can see from what you've read so far today.
All of my facts are citations from credible sources.
I also made sure to include outbound links to those websites.
You should not only link to authoritative sites, but you should also ensure that all of the information is up to date.
Outbound links to resources from 2009 are no longer relevant and will have little effect on your SEO ranking.
Internal links should also be included.
Visitors will be directed to other pages on your website via these links.
This technique was used in the first sentence of this section.
If you scroll back up and click the link, you will be taken to another Quick Sprout blog post.
7. Include more than just text.
Your website's content should not consist solely of written words.
As I previously stated, images are also beneficial, but there is more you can do to boost your SEO ranking.
Consider adding other multimedia elements to your sites, such as videos, slideshows, or audio.
All of this can contribute to a better user experience.
It is far more convenient to watch something than to read about it.
However, there is a direct relationship between the number of videos and other multimedia sources on your website and its SEO ranking.
These features can significantly increase the amount of time a visitor spends on your website.
People may stay on your page for several minutes depending on the length of your videos.
If this occurs, your search ranking will improve.
8. Make certain that your website is readable.
When creating content for your website, keep your target audience in mind.
If you want people to visit and spend time on your website, speak in terms they can understand.
Make no attempt to sound like a doctor or a lawyer (even if you are one).
Your content should be written in a way that the vast majority of people will understand.
Are you unsure whether your content is readable?
You can get assistance from online resources.
Readable.com is one of my personal favourites.
Tools like this can assist you in identifying words that may be too long or difficult for people to understand.
9. Repair any broken links.
You shouldn't have to worry about broken links if you use authority websites for hyperlinks.
However, it is still possible.
Broken links can wreak havoc on your SEO ranking.
Furthermore, it does not look good if a link you provide to your visitors leads them to an invalid website.
You can use tools like Dead Link Checker to look for broken links on your website:
This can be used to test your entire website or specific pages.
When you sign up, you can also have your account checked automatically.
When a link goes down, you'll be notified right away so you can replace it.
You can also use this tool to keep track of other websites relevant to your industry.
How does this help your SEO?
If a link on another website becomes inactive, you can notify the webmaster of that page and request that the dead link is replaced with a link to your website instead.
Because you are doing them a favour by informing them of a problem with their website, they may be willing to do you a favour in return.
This will increase the number of visitors to your website. Inbound links from other websites to your page will also help your SEO ranking.
10. Make your website mobile-friendly.
As you are probably aware, mobile usage is on the rise.
It is growing so quickly that it has surpassed computers and laptop computers.
Mobile devices account for more than 60% of all Google searches.
Google understands this and ranks websites accordingly.
Mobile users must be able to access your website.
There's no getting around it.
If your site isn't optimized, it will degrade the user experience, lowering your ranking.
Search engine optimization isn't just a trend that will fade away soon.
It's something your website should focus on right now, as well as in the future.
If you're just getting started with SEO, you're already behind, but it's not too late to use the methods I just mentioned.
Don't get too carried away.
Start with a few and work your way up.
Keep track of your progress.
Validating your SEO plan by looking at your traffic and search ranking is a good idea.
You'll be on your way to the top of Google's search results in no time.
Who knows, maybe you'll be able to take the number one slot.
